Veneers can help with many of the things we find most unattractive about our teeth. They can improve the alignment, positioning, shape, and colour of teeth, as well as reduce the gaps between them.
However, before we place any veneers in your mouth, we always like to check if there is a less invasive way to solve your dental problems.
That’s because in order to place your veneers we may have to thin your natural teeth, and we’d always rather help you maintain your natural teeth if we can.
We offer Teeth Whitening treatments if you’d like to improve the colour of your teeth, and the positioning and alignment of your teeth may be able to be corrected using braces or Invisalign Retainers.
If those treatments don’t appeal to you, or you just want a more immediate solution, then veneers could be exactly what you’re looking for.
The Benefits of Veneers
Veneers are a great solution to a number of dental issues.
They can be used to adjust the position, size, and shape of teeth as well as improve the whiteness of teeth and reduce the gaps between them.
This is particularly useful when trying to mask discoloured teeth that have come about either as a result of injury or root canal treatment.
If you are only having a couple of teeth transformed, we ensure that the new veneers are colour matched to your other teeth for extra subtlety.

What Type of Veneers Are There?
At DentoBeauty, we offer two types of veneer; Porcelain and composite.
Porcelain veneers are what people typically think of when you mention veneers. They are professionally crafted ceramic shells that sit over your original (although slightly reduced) tooth.
A cheaper alternative to porcelain veneers is composite veneers. These are resin veneers that are made directly on your tooth and can be placed in a single visit.
Composite veneers last around 8 – 10 years versus the 15 years you can expect from porcelain veneers and porcelain veneers will hold their colour a lot better.

If Ceramic Veneers Are Right For You
During the initial consultation, if it’s decided that ceramic (porcelain) veneers are right for you, we’ll schedule your first appointment as soon as it’s convenient.
During the first appointment, we will slightly reduce your teeth and take a mould of your mouth. This is sent to our dental ceramic milling partner who will produce your new set of veneers.
While these are being made (typically 5 working days) we will give you a temporary set of veneers to wear. These will not be as strong as the final set of veneers so avoid biting anything too hard at this time.
Once your veneers come back from the mill, we’ll invite you back for fitting where we’ll place your new veneers in the perfect position and you’ll be ready to eat by the time you get home for dinner.

Sharareh Hemmati (Shirley) qualified as a Dental Therapist from King’s collage Hospital London in 2009.
She has experience working with both adults and children and is especially good at helping nervous patients feel at ease with her informal and friendly manner.
